FEBRUARY 11TH MEETING - SPECIAL PRESENTATION ON FINANCIAL PLANNING: A presentation will be made by the Hantz Group, during the February Union Meeting. OLD UMR INSURANCE CARDS: BCBS was effective as of July 1st, 2007. Make sure that you are giving the new BCBS insurance card to your providers as unnecessary billing to UMR is costing the local money. Please be sure to throw away these old cards, so they cannot be used by mistake when you go to the doctor and check that your doctor has updated your information.
BCBSM INFORMATION: If you are experiencing any problems with the new health insurance (BCBS), please call customer service first at 1-800-972-9797. Lori can no longer file any claims for you from the Union Hall as the forms must have the member’s signature. You can request reimbursement forms from the customer service number above. BCBS is there to administer the claims processing and payments and should be the first phone call you make to resolve any issue, help find a participating provider or answer any questions regarding OUR plan. If you still have problems after talking to them, please call Lori at (269) 679-2570.

| - BCBSM adds PPO network of physical therapists |
 |
BCBSM has added independent physical therapists and freestanding outpatient physical therapy facilities to the existing Community Blue PPO network. The addition of these provider types will supplement the existing Community Blue network, which is currently composed of Michigan facilities, MDs, DOs, DCs, DPMs, oral surgeons and fully licensed psychologists.
If someone in your family needs physical therapy after Jan. 1, 2008, you’ll maximize your benefits when you receive care from a network therapist.
You may search for a credentialed PT provider on the BCBSM Web site as of Dec. 24, 2007. As providers join our PPO network, we’ll add them to bcbsm.com. Therapy providers can also tell you if they plan to become network providers.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE: Attorney Tom Rosenhagen will be available for free legal consultation between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm on the Union Meeting nights. If you need to contact Tom outside the times above, you may call his offices in Portage at the West Mich. Workers Comp. & Social Security Disability Law Center at (269) 492-7979 or toll free (866) 356-0834.
ATTENTION: Please let us know if you will be leaving a vehicle in the hall parking lot. You can even leave a message on the voicemail if it’s after hours. This is just a courtesy and we appreciate it. Vehicles left unidentified will be towed.
OTHER INFORMATION TO MEMBERS: There is a metal box by the front door of the hall for anything you may want to drop in after hours, such as dues or other information.
You can receive a 25% discount with your union card at Okun Brothers Shoes!
OUT OF WORK: When calling the hall to get on the out of work list, if Mike is unavailable, please try to speak with Christa rather than leaving a message to ensure you get on the list promptly! Thank You!! |
PLEASE NOTE: Please notify Christa at the Union Hall if you have a current plumbing license. We would like to have a copy for our files. Also, notify Christa when renewing your plumbing license, so we may keep our records current and up to date. THE STATE DOES NOT NOTIFY US!!
If you are interested in ever going to work at a nuclear plant, one of the things they require is your name as it appears on your drivers’ license, and your drivers’ license #. Please supply us with this information at your convenience.
PAC FUND – ACTIVE MEMBERS ONLY: If you have not filled out an authorization form to allow the allocation of $.05 per hour to be contributed to the Political Action Fund, please call or stop by the Union Hall and request a signature card. This card DOES NOT withhold any additional money from your check. It only authorizes the re-allocation of funds.
GET WELL SOON: We wish a speedy recovery to Lance Williams after his recent surgery. Also, we wish Bob Williams Sr. a speedy recovery after his recent surgery. |
